Growing up, Moving on, And Believing in Myself

A new IWSG is here and it catches me as I've decided to get to the next phase of my life as a writer. When I started this blog, almost two years ago, I was unsure about my talent as a writer or blogger. It was after many years of my husband's and father's insistence to give it a try, that I finally decided to toss the coin for my future.

A lot has changed since. Today, I believe I'm a writer. Heck, I even introduce myself as such! I know there is a lot of space for improvement and I can't hardly say I'm as good as I will ever be--certainly, I hope not, 'cause that would suck--but I'm sure I'm on the right track. Writing makes me happy. I've even found out I'm a decent reviewer, who would've thunk it?! I now have published a couple of my works and have many more looking for a house. You could say I'm growing up; maturing.

Now I feel it's time to take those experiences, that self-assurance I didn't have before, and project it on to all of my endeavors, like this blog. As a celebration of my new-found certitude, I've decided to change the appearance, and even the title, of this blog. The IP address will remain the same, since I do not wish to loose all of you, as the posts and vein in which I write. Think about it more like a facelift in an attempt to look more professional and attract more readers to my books. Isn't, after all, that what we all want?

I'm no designer or programmer, though, and my knowledge of computers and programs is very limited, so it might take a few weeks. But rest assured, next month you will find same old me under a newer, hopefully improved, facade. Do not miss the grand unveiling!

Belated Happy Halloween to all, and I hope you are having an excellent NaNoWriMo for those of you with a taste for torture. ;)

Aw, I'm gonna miss this look, though I understand why you want to change it. Can you at least share where the backdrop/wallpaper for it came from?

Just discovered your blog and it looks very interesting! I shall follow with pleasure. So glad you're feeling positive about your writing. So few writers have such positive feelings.

Mina, my girl! I know I found the picture after hours of scouring the net, but I can't remember for the life of me just where exactly I snatched it. Sorry... :/

Pat, thanks so much for following! I always feel like I've won a prize when a new follower graces my blog with his/her presence. =)

MrsJones, I know right? It took sometime before I could say it out loud, but that's what I am. A writer in progress. Always. =) Thanks for your nice words!

What an inspiring post and thank you for your kind comment on my blog. (: It's nice to see that things do get better, we just have to hang in there and preserver. Introducing yourself as a writer is a positive step! Few people in my life know I write, but I'm not at the point where I feel secure enough to introduce myself as a writer...at least not yet. (:

Elise, that confidence will come soon. The more you do it, the more you find that others enjoy your writing, the recognition of calling yourself by the name of which you already are will come. You'll see. =)

A blog facelift to represent changing attitudes and experience is a great idea! It's like redecorating your house or getting your hair cut. New appearance, new outlook. I felt the same way, started an entire new blog and have felt much better about it, plus got a lot of new followers. Good luck in all your do! :-)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blogs. Good luck with your new look! I always feel the need to "redecorate" my blog every few months, but I am technically challenged so it is only minor changes

I'm excited for your progress...and the new look! Your blog looks great now, but change is a good thing. It's awesome and inspirational that you introduce yourself as a writer. I still have a hard time doing that. For me it usually comes later in the conversation. Hope you have a fun weekend planned! :)

Thanks Lexa, I hadn't thought about it that way but you're totally right. Why is it that we women are always thinking in ways to look better? We often do end up looking much better, though ;)

Heather, I'm feeling the pain of being technically challenged! Must of my ideas are out of my possibilities... if only I could charge my brain with the knowledge. Remember Matrix?

Thanks Michael! I'm still working on the change, though I'm happy of the present appearance. I still want something much more radical, but I don't know if blogger will let me. We'll see... Have an awesome weekend, you too!
