Inspiration and Summer Reflexion

Summer's here. There are kids to be entertained, pools to be jumped, beaches to be swam, drinks to be drunk, friends to be enjoyed, and work to be done. Will we have time to fit it all? I don't know, but what is life if you don't live it with a smile, right? So, while I will have to crunch a lot of writing time to meet all my deadlines, I know I have to make some time to have fun, bathe in the sun, and swim in the pool. I'm also trying to put together a summer project for the blog, going to NYC and visiting reputed haunted places to post pictures and experiences here.

So, my advice for all insecure writers out there would be to have fun. There is no way to fill the never-ending well of inspiration if we don't get out and live. Experience new things, laugh until you cry, watch a movie, find out you most definitively could've written it better, then go on and write it! Make new friends and tend to old ones. Spend time with the family. When the leaves make their little dance on the chilling air, you'll be fuller, happier, tanner, and maybe wiser. And you can only be a better writer because of it.

Great inspiration, thanks for sharing!

I love this time of the year, but right now it's a bit to hot! :)

I enjoy summer, especially when it involves chilling by the pool. It's great inspiration for writing, too, because it's fun to watch people...

I know, the weather is really crazy these days. I hope you are not in one of those spots that are getting cooked under the scorching sun. Enjoy and be safe!

Pools are the best. There's nothing like clear blue water surrounding you in a hot day. It could only be better if you have a margarita in hand. Enjoy and make memories!

I think this may be the best advice I've read yet, and I've read quite a bit. Yes ma'am. Have fun, indeed!

Nice picture :) I was so annoyed at the start of summer. The schedule was off, I couldn't get anything done. But then I let it all go. You're right, we need to relax and enjoy. So that's what I'm going to do. I'll write when I can, but this August will be the first time all of my kids are in school. I'll have all the time in the world to write (and probably cry a little).

Yay! Let's drink to that Julie!

Oh, Meredith, I zoo get the sad-yet-happy feeling of a month without kids. I will try to push all the writing that I can in that period, and in the mean time, I just got a somewhat painful sunburn. =)

So true. Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't...you're right. The picture reminds me of my time in Hawaii a few weeks ago...and I already miss it. I like the sound of your summer project and excited to hear about what you find!
