Here we are once more, almost half way through the year and calling on all insecure writers to come together, to cheer each other up. How's been your 2013 so far? For me, it has been a year of ups and downs. Last year I was super motivated, writing 2 posts every month for the blog and reading like crazy. I started reviewing, discovered I was really good at it, and enjoyed it a lot.
This year, however, I've been mostly concentrated in writing fiction. I have many stories doing the rounds, but none has yet found a house. The snag? Well, I haven't been as active in the blog, and my reading is just not happening. I'm sad to say I may miss my goal of books read for the year by a long shot. And since I'm not reading, I've stopped reviewing. Still, writing is good, right?
I'm trying to keep positive, pick up my reading, and finding new bookish activities to ignite my fire, again. But I won't stop writing, and I won't stop trying to land a new publication.
I hope for the rest of you things are going well and you are facing the hot season with lots of plans and a great attitude. Tell me all about it! Best wishes to all. And remember to go to the IWSGroup page and get to know more amazing writers. There's hundreds now!

Writing is very good! :)
It's definitely hard to find that balance - I'm still working at it too. Hope the second half of your year has more ups than downs.
You sound so focus-- very enviable. Best to you as you seek publication.
Well done for keeping the writing going. When all else is falling down around me, that's what usually keeps me going.
Good luck for the second half of the year!
Thanks for all the nice sentiments, ladies. I know it's hard to keep focus on every single thing we'd like to accomplish, but with the right support system, we can do it. =)
Reading your blogs it seems you have quite a lot on your plate and the most important thing is the writing!
Good for you, everything in its own time!
Love IWSG!
Thanks Yolanda! the ISWG has introduced me to so many awesome writers. It's great to feel a part of something where the only goal is to help others as they help you. =)
It's not always easy, but you can do it!
I would argue that you're doing the most important thing a writer can: you're writing! It's super hard to strike a balance between that, blogging, and reading. Especially if you've got kids or a day job (or, God help you, BOTH!). I'm still trying to find the balance (and I've been saying that for about a year, now). Ack! :-)
Some Dark Romantic
Oh, Mina, one of the things the IWSG reminds me month after month is how we all go through the same hurdles. It makes me realize that I'm not the only one trying to figure life as I go. It also inspires me deeply when other writers find a way to keep going strong. You among them!
Thanks Joachim!
Think of it as an ebb and flow. As long as one area remains strong, you're all right.
Thanks captain ninja! To concentrate on the positives a d keep pushing forward, I guess. :)
It's so important just to keep writing. It's hard for me to keep up a lot of blogging...so about once a week is a good balance for me. Your posts are always intriguing and fun to read. Keep it up! :)
I know you're busy writing, but I still chose you!
I've always loved your blog site, yes inspiration is what it's all about!
Please stop by and claim your award!
You have a great blog, Georgina! I think as long as you are writing then you are doing great. It's when you stop writing when I'd worry, but I do understand your position. Sometimes it's just hard to keep up with everything that a writer has to do now-a-days. Good luck with everything!
